Colleyville Public Library Expansion Project -Week 10

This week the Library was bustling with activity on both floors, as work progressed on the Colleyville Public Library second floor expansion project.  On the second floor, painters began applying a first coat of white paint to the walls, which transformed the area into a winter white world.  By mid-week, splashes of color adorned the walls, when painters started to apply various colors of paint to the white walls.  Also, steel workers completed the installation of the support beam for the meeting room moveable wall in the small area where the individual operable petitions will be stored when not in use.   When completed, the moveable wall installation workers began drilling holes in the I-beam to secure the panel track for the operable petitions. Some heating ventilation and air conditioning rough in work continued, and additional fire sprinkler lines were relocated. Additionally, above the ceiling plumbing vent installation was completed.  On the first floor, workers continued with demolition work, which included removing two existing first floor meeting room walls, some heating ventilation and air conditioning duct, and plumbing pipes. Also, additional fire sprinkler lines were relocated to clear the area for the new stairwell installation.  This preparation was coupled with shoring work that was completed to support the floor in the area where the steel structure for new stairwell is to be constructed. Currently, work on the project is on target and is scheduled for completion the end of April 2011.
