Colleyville Public Library Expansion Project - Week 8

A considerable amount of progress was made on the Colleyville Public Library second floor expansion project this week. The focus of the work continued to be on the second floor.  Drywall workers completed installing most of the sheetrock and insulation. By mid-week, workers had finished the taping and bedding of the sheetrock, which prepared the new walls for the application of paint primer.  Workers completed applying paint primer in one day, which gave the walls a more finished appearance.  A fire alarm was moved in the story time room, which allowed workers to finish with sheetrock installation in that area.  Also, fire sprinkler lines were relocated, which will allow workers to continue with the installation of the last section of the support I-beam for the second floor meeting room moveable wall.  Metal wire supports were placed throughout the ceiling in preparation for the installation of the ceiling grid.  Additionally, heating ventilation and air conditioning, electrical and plumbing rough in work continued.  On the first floor in the meeting room, workers completed the relocation of additional fire sprinkler lines in the area where the hole will be cut for the new stairwell.   Currently, work on the project is on target and is scheduled for completion the end of April 2011.
